Built around listening — and the belief that families deserve space to breathe
We are a small Bangkok practice, handling family legal matters with care, discretion, and no unnecessary pressure on the people involved.
Back to HomeHow Baan Legal came to be
Baan Legal was founded in Bangkok with a straightforward purpose: to give families access to thoughtful, plainly explained legal support during some of the harder chapters of family life. The name "Baan" — the Thai word for home — reflects that intention.
We noticed that many people approaching family legal matters felt overwhelmed not just by the situation itself, but by the process. Appointments that moved too fast. Documents they didn't understand. Lawyers who spoke around them rather than to them. We wanted to do something different.
Our work spans three areas: helping people understand their options around separation, supporting parents who need to put a workable parenting arrangement in writing, and drafting or reviewing family agreements for those who have reached a mutual understanding and want it set down clearly. Each case moves at its own pace — and we make sure clients understand every step before we take it.
Our Mission
To make family legal support in Thailand accessible, clear, and genuinely human — with no rush and no pressure.
Our Vision
A practice where families feel heard, respected, and well-informed at every stage of the process — whatever the outcome.
Our Values
Discretion, clarity, patience, and genuine care for the people we work with — especially where children are part of the picture.

Standards we hold ourselves to
Client Confidentiality
Every conversation and every document shared with us is treated as strictly private. We follow Thai legal professional standards and keep your information secure.
Thai Bar Association Standards
Our lawyers are registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand and practice within the ethical framework that governs the profession.
Plain Document Standard
Every document we produce is written in plain English. We don't use legal jargon where ordinary words will do, and we explain anything that needs explaining.
Responsive Communication
We aim to respond to all enquiries within one working day and keep clients updated at each stage without being contacted to ask.
Child Wellbeing Focus
In any matter involving children, we apply a child-first lens to every recommendation and document. Their wellbeing is not a footnote — it is a guiding principle.
No-Pressure Approach
We never push clients to make decisions faster than they are ready. Initial consultations are exploratory — there is no obligation attached to them.
Family legal services in Bangkok, handled with care
Baan Legal operates from Yaowarat Road in central Bangkok, serving Thai families and international residents navigating family legal matters under Thai law. Our work is focused and intentional — we handle three specific areas where we feel we can genuinely help: separation, parenting arrangements, and family agreement preparation.
Many clients come to us having had a difficult or confusing experience elsewhere. Common concerns include not understanding what documents they signed, feeling hurried through a process they weren't ready for, or simply not knowing where to start. We address all of these from the very first conversation.
Thailand's family law framework has its own character — and international families often find it particularly complex to navigate. Our team has experience working with clients of various nationalities, understanding cross-border considerations, and explaining Thai legal requirements clearly to those unfamiliar with them.
We believe that good family legal support isn't about speed or volume of cases. It's about taking enough time with each family to understand their situation properly — and then helping them find a path forward that they can feel settled about.
A quiet word can be a good place to begin
